Badass non-profit: Nomads Giving Back

Every month we are going to pick one cool non-for-profit organization that we love and write about it. We want to support all the badass people out there who do big things in order to change the world and help others.

Tarek Kholoussy, Founder of Nomads Giving Back

Before becoming a full-time social entrepreneur, Tarek provided strategic leadership within world-leading healthcare and financial service organizations. Feeling unfulfilled, he found himself focusing his energy on work that didn’t resonate with him. He began dreaming of the life that has more meaning. Dreams come true. Today Kholoussy is a social impact leader globally and lives the life he imagined.

I met Tarek in Lisbon about a year ago at the charitable event of his badass non-profit Nomads Giving Back. It felt great to be a part of the discussion on how we, nomads and expats, can help the local communities while roaming the world. I’ve got to know so many people with big hearts who give a shit and share so much love in Portugal and around the world! There was a panel of presenters with other non-profits, who rock, and you could sense amazing energy in the room. I even went on stage to present my inspiring events for digital professionals and almost blacked out from shyness (it’s funny how that has changed: I started my own talk-show in a minute).

Nomads Giving Back (NGB) is a social enterprise and a global community that serves as a bridge between foreigners and locals to create positive social change through cultural exchanges, skill sharing, education, support, and more. NGB partners with local organizations and together they create unique experiences, impact-themed trips, meetups, events, workshops, and more. The goal is to educate, inspire, and empower socially-conscious people to make a positive social impact around the world.

During my travels, the experiences that resulted in the most meaning, sense of purpose, and personal growth were the experiences with volunteer work, advocacy, and fundraising at their core. – Tarek Kholoussy

30+ team members and 30+ ambassadors around the world keep the badassery roaring. More than 65 impact-themed events have already been led in ten countries with the majority of them in two main hubs of Bali and Medellín, Colombia. NGB also has a volunteer matching program that helps people who feel they’d like to help locally but don’t know where to start. The project is fully bootstrapped.

In these badass times, when we have a massive shift online, you still can join the social revolution, help the world remotely, and make a difference. Join Nomads Giving Back and change the world.
